On March 28th our own Brennan "The Irish Bad Boy" Ward takes on Alexander "Storm" Shlemenko at Bellator MMA 114. In front of about one million viewers Brennan will attempt to hand the Russian veteran an 8th loss on his record as he takes a shot at the Bellator Middleweight Championship!

In the span of about six months, The Irish Bad Boy shot to the top of the Bellator MMA talent pool, ripping through the season 9 tournament. Starting with a last minute entry into the tournament versus Justin Torrey. There was bad blood between the two going into the fight and that is exactly how the fight ended in the second round: a bloody TKO. Brennan was then set to fight Perry Filkins, but Filkins was replaced by Joe Pacheco who Brennan put unconscious with a submission in the second round. Most recently, Brennan had his toughest challenge of the tournament against the talented Mikkel Parlo. Mikkel too was finished in the second round by a bombardment of right hands from The Irish Bad Boy.

Shlemenko will be the toughest challenge yet for Brennan. In this title defense, the proud-to-be-Russian Shlemenko is vying for his 50th win as a professional. Regarding Brennan, Shlemenko was quoted as saying "..he is a young fighter, while I have experience on my side." While the Russian makes a valid point, he made no mention of The Irish Bad Boy's extreme athleticism and his superior wrestling skill. In return, Brennan said "I'm looking forward to bringing the heat and taking the belt away, Cold War style," echoing what he told Shlemenko in the ring after his defeat of Doug "The Rhino" Marshall: that the belt was coming back to America.

While Brennan is the underdog for this fight, it's important to note that he has been the underdog for all his TV fights in Bellator MMA and that each ended in a second round finish. Earlier this month we dropped the OG Irish Bad Boy snapback which uses Irish flag colors over our original SCHOOL ZONE logo to support Brennan for this huge fight. We hope all the Schoolzonehats fans will tune in to Spike TV on Friday the 28th at 9pm ET to root for The Irish Bad Boy as he and team IBB head to the ring in the Schoolzonehats Catalog to capture Bellator Gold!
